We are a small team of friends, working together for the first time to bring you some exciting new projects!
Our main work right now is a Visual Novel game, which we are calling “Project Cadence” for now, until it has a proper name. This is a long term project, and probably won’t be ready for release for a couple of years. But we might have some smaller things for you in the meantime, so watch this space!
Additionally, we are going to be entering the Spooktober VN Game Jam, so we hope to have a short horror themed visual novel for you to enjoy by the start of October! We primarily use the Ren’py visual novel game maker, which we highly recommend for any beginner and hopeful VN devs out there. We also hope to branch out into other projects like point and click adventure games in the future.
She's the one doing the bulk of the writing and trying to make the basic things work. She has a lot more to do, but she promises to get to it just as soon as she has finished her cup of tea. She will also be working on concept art, gui design, music, some of the simpler coding parts, and generally doing her best not to break things too often. Jen has a background in creative writing for fun, as well as being on both sides of the DM screen for tabletop roleplaying games, so you may notice a little of that influence on her writing.
Myles is the one who fixes everything Jen inevitably breaks, and makes all the fancy things work with his extensive code knowledge. He will also be collaborating on the music composition and mastering the tracks so they sound clean and shiny, and a few other tasks here and there. He genuinely enjoys deep diving into the code, like a 90s movie hacker, except he’s cooler and has better hair.
Hazel is the lead artist in the team, bringing in a lot of experience and a degree in Games Art. She is doing a wonderful job of turning Jen's concept sketches into the fully formed designs for the characters to make the sprites, and will be working on the CG images and editing some of the backgrounds and other art.
Wez will be doing some work on the game backgrounds and also in the background, supplying Jen with fresh tea, reminding her to write, and helping with general project management. He has a degree in 3D animation, and he also has a lot of creative experience through tabletop RPGs. He will be providing valuable feedback and input, especially when Jenivere hits the third creative wall of the evening and needs to be prodded past it.
Summer Horrordays is our entry to the 2021 Spooktober VN Game Jam hosted by the DevTalk Discord server. The game, including the trailer, was made within the Ren'py game engine.

Project Cadence is an Otome genre Visual Novel (romance with female protagonist and male love interests) set in a brand new high fantasy world.
